It is August and I am frantically looking for monarch eggs for my habitat cages. I am at our lake house in Missouri, but there are no monarchs here. When we were in Salina, KS ten days ago, I found four eggs on my milkweed and seven caterpillars. Now I have four caterpillars and seven chrysalis’s. I will be sharing these with the little ones at story time in the Berryville, Arkansas public library this week. I will be reading First Comes A Butterfly and signing any books purchased. There will be a few surprises as well. I wish I had copies of my latest picture book, Ezra’s Valentines, to share, but it is a bit early for Valentine’s although the theme of love and kindness is always timely.
